Possibly it is not 2ohm stable and when running two drivers you are at 2 ohms?

Too low a load, not enough current getting to amp, too much voltage drop between amp and battery, could be alot of shit.
Give us details about your system, its all but impossible for you to be ANY LESS SPECIFIC then you have been.Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast

You have (2) 12" Subs running off one 400 watt amp? Of course something isn't going to work, for one 200 watts per 12" I'm guessing wouldn't really push them let alone make them thump. I had a 250 watt amp trying to power a 12" and it just didn't work. I'd suggest using that amp for your speakers if possible and buying a bigger amp.Comment

Thats not the problem. They power it fine and it has LOTS OF BASS. Only thing is when I turn up the volume to much it goes on protection mode. And 200watts will still make bass for a 12inch. ItComment

200rms is plenty for a 12", you have no idea what you're talking about. Furthermore, the amplifier would not going into protection mode if there simply wasn't enough power for the speakers. In addition, when you ran a 12" sub off of your 250watt (probably Power Acoustik), you must have improperly installed the amplifier for it "just not to work."Originally posted by eightyfoureYou have (2) 12" Subs running off one 400 watt amp? My 250 watt amp was a pioneer , I'm not assuming anything. Just throwing out some information I've witnessed. It didn't do anything for my 12" sub. I didn't wire it wrong, it just had no punch, barely going. That is all I'm saying. Remember, I'm just trying to help him solve his problem aswell, no need to try to put me in the wrong. I just would think the Infinity's would like to have more then 200 watts rms going to them, and maybe the amp wasn't able to push them. Speculation.Originally posted by kencopperwheat200rms is plenty for a 12", you have no idea what you're talking about. It wouldn't go into protection mode if the amp couldn't power the speakers. It'd just clip until the speakers blew.Originally posted by eightyfoureMy 250 watt amp was a pioneer , I'm not assuming anything. Just throwing out some information I've witnessed. I think you should probably take it to someone who knows what they are doing before something gets screwed up. You won't get warrantied a new amp due to negligence on your part for hooking it up improperly.I retired my E30 for now...
