Why does the Arsenic line not have a full face deck? I hate seeing the slot.

    Closing SOON!

On a somewhat related note, do any decks have decent amps built in? They all seem to be 50-55w per channel and are total pewp. I guess you can't fit much in the small space though..

I installed my friends' low/mid end Kenwood KDC-HD942U (http://outlet.crutchfield.com/p_113H...enwood&tp=5684) and I hated setting it up. It's menu layout is terrible.

Can't say for their higher end offerings.

No, they are about 15 watts per channel, nothing makes anywhere near 45 watts per channel.

Thank goodness, the speaker wires out of the JVC deck were ridiculously flimsy; 22, 24 gauge? My iphone earbud wires are more substantial.

I understand you have to cut costs somewhere to get to a price, but holy cow. Any more than 20 watts would probably smoke them...

Ok, I did it! I went with the JVC Arsenal KD-A615. It was priced just a bit more than the Sony so i didnt have to cringe too much when clicking "Purchase". Its on backorder right now but they get them in on the 17th. Cant wait!

Good luck. Be sure to give us a report and post some pics when you get it installed.

On a similar note, can you listen to music off a phone via bluetooth on deck with bluetooth? Or is the bluetooth only used for calls?

Both. But you may not want to.

At first I used bluetooth to connect to the deck and play pandora off my iphone.

Sounded like sh@t. Thought my new fact. tweets were blown - lots of distortion and crackling. Then I connected via the headphone jack, and all the distortion and crackling went away. If you connect the usb to an iphone with the bluetooth paired: total protonic reversal, or something similar. don't try it.

In my experience, Bluetooth is only good for talk radio and making calls. YMMV

If you have A2DP protocols on both the deck and the phone, yes...but as explained above, don't bother.

I installed my 805 tonight and I have no idea what you guys are on about. I was listening to my Storm 2 on bluetooth and the music sounded like it was it was plugged in. Maybe you guys just have crappy old phones with marginal bluetooth capability. Pandora has settings you need to change for high quality too; if you leave it in default it's in low quality for OTA streaming. Change it to high quality and it makes a huge difference.

BTW love my 805 so far.

Nope can't be that. I have the jesus phone. Everything apple makes is perfect...must just be my ears /sarc>;)

Thanks, I will check that out. It is a real pain to plug the phone in to the deck. Doesn't charge all that fast, and as soon as you plug in, it switches whatever you are listening to to the ipod.
