        2. Go buy a fucking tape measure. 10" woofers won't fit in an E30 rear deck.

        3. You have never done a goddamn thing "professionally' in your fucking life, have you?

Wrap that garbage in carpet? Are you out of your fucking mind? How much do you think those woofers are gonna fart and flop around? If they actually made any bass, how much do you think it would make the rear deck flop...jesus fuck the fucking ROOF of my car moves a good 2" on big boom, how the hell do you thing a "carpet wrapped rear deck" is gonna work over that garbage?

So YOU look at the pic, fool. That isn't an E30...but you wouldn't know that since you haven't actually DONE anything yet.

Shut the fuck up kid, men are talking here.

Holy christ... If you're sick of questions being asked then get the fuck off of a forum. That's what we're here for! I know dick-all about car audio...I'm not claiming that I do. If you read my first post I ASKED "Hey resident expert....Do you think this would work? Here's a pic of something similar" (I know that's not a fucking E30). And all you had to say was "No, probably not..here's why:" not OOOH MYYY GOODDDD. I'm SO FUCKING CRABBY YOUR AN IDIOT IM SO SMART SHUT THE FUCK UP GOD DAMNIT.

I've read alot of your posts and I used to admire how respectfully you dealt with people and how patient you were with explaining things and your wealth of knowledge. I think most will agree that's why you are so valued on this forum so I'm not sure where all that negativity came from. IDEAS are what makes us progress as a community. I'm so sorry that I had an idea you didn't like, but perhaps you should take a drive down to Wal-mart and buy a fucking shovel to scoop all that sand out of your vag.

If you think my idea is stupid and won't work then FINE. It was a question. Get over it. And for the record real MEN don't act the way you just did.

I don't know how well it has been discussed but I know there are some slim subs that fit under seats that people use in verts. I have no idea about anything about them but it's a suggestion and Luke may know about them.

No it should work. Go to bimmerforums.com and search the audio section for Jordan's build. I'm too lazy to go find it, lol. He built his own box and had the ports coming up through the rear deck. His car has crazy bass now and he says it's the best system he's ever heard.

Maybe one way to start would to build an upfireing enclosure and take out the rear deck speakers as a way for some sound to get through to the cab. If you plan on having a somewhat decent front stage I doubt you'll miss the rears...

Jordan built his sub to fire through the read deck and it seems to work amazingly.

E30 nova that is not the rear deck. the rear deck is where the speakers sit that box isnt ported at all.

so yeah im limited to the two speaker holes, i just want to know what the best setup is to get bass into the car.

Maybe one way to get an idea of what's going to work best would to be throw the sub in a small sealed box and try it in different positions and see what you like best. Then build a final product that is finished and keep it there? I think with a lot of Second Skin or other sound deaden-er in the trunk and open wholes for the where the speakers were you could get some low end in your cab with a rear firing or upfiring enclosure. Butttt I don't know for sure. Just throwing out ideas...

Why not just cut a ski pass? If you are worried about rigidity, then just reinforce it with some steel square tubing. Honestly though, I don't think that panel does much. Screwing the box to at will help stiffen it as well.

I'm no audio pro, but couldn't he just make a box like Jordan's but have the sub facing the rear of the car. It would still be ported into the cab, and he wouldn't have to do anything to the rear seat area.

Like I said, I'm no audio pro so it may not work. Sounds plausible, though.

Matt, it is, but it isn't. The ports output is naturally 180 degrees out pf phase with the woofer. The woofer plays the higher notes, the port plays the lower notes and the port acts to stop the cone of the woofer from physically moving at lower frequencies, so they really need to be in the same space.

What you get when you do that is a bunch of "thud", but not nice sounding clean bass.

If I had to do one of those cars and I wanted damned impressive bass is do a bandpass...which is hard, very tough to find a woofer that works in bandpass today.
