    Vert speaker help

so i have a nice alpine head unit and 1600W mono block amp for my Alpine 12" Type R sub. and i need speakers for the rear of my car. i have alpine 5.25 type S's. but they have not low-end sound to them. can anyone recommend a speaker that is really good? like $200-300 for a pair? they cant have tweeters, because they don't fit under the side panels. i was eyeing the Pioneer TS-D1320C. is that a good one or is there better?

I put 5.25 Infinity Kappa Pro components in the front and Kappa 4.25 in the rear of my vert. I like Infinity for thier vocals and mid range. If I could find a way to get a sub in the car life would be grand.

Just installed these 5.25" in the rear of my vert. They barely fit with the large magnet size. I read the stock speaker is about 2.25" deep, the Alpines I used were about 2" deep but with a much larger magnet. So when you shop around be sure to pay attention to the magnet size as well. I went with these Alpine's mainly because they were cheap and matched my headunit. As you might imagine, they sound much better than the stock rear speakers. They really fill the sound in back there. Still debating if I should get a small in cabin subwoofer.

those are the speakers i have in the back currently but the heat caused the glue that holds the cone to the rubber to dissolve and now they sound blown.

Really? you mean heat from the sun? Sounds strange.

My Type R sub ive had to glue, my speakers are on their second gluing and they are type S's. the heat has also played a little bit on the faceplate. i think its a CDA-9850. the clarity was amazing but now that ive had them 4 years, they are all blown. i had them in my red 325ES till last October.

                      Speakers

I'm in the same dilemma right now, I'm about to pull the trigger on Polks for the front and Rockfords for the rear. The Polks are supposed to be good for imaging and in the rear I will use the Rockford separates (just the mid no tweeters) as they are inexpensive and my friend has them and they hit pretty hard. The Cabrio is such a bad car for speakers that it's not funny. Go to Crutchfield web page they tell you what fits.

Here is something I am thinking about. I bought some extra speaker covers to give it a try.
I already had the Focals from a Rover I owned. I know- some people will think it is stupid, but all it takes is a $15 set of covers to revert back. The stock covers block a great deal of the sound.
