I still want one of those 10" boxes Luke. The wife loves the 12" box, and I am continually impressed by it's output (and clarity) with only 150w RMS and an RE Audio rex12d4 that only cost $55. What is the max top mounting depth a sub can have in one of those? Any excursion limits?
As in actual XMax or how much a woofer cone can flop around....the 10", you either need to trima bit of metal or keep it under 1.5" P2P.

Every M3 I have ever seen came with rear battery, which means it has the skipass opening.

These fit the M3 flawlessly, but the rear panel will need to be templated differently...so that would be on you!

Actually, M3's do have the skipass panel that can be knocked out. The panel in my '88 M3 was already removed by a previous owner, and before I permanently installed my 10" Luke box in my 325is, I tested it in the M3 and it obviously fits the same. One plus in the M3 is that you don't have to remove any trunk tar to make the box fit properly.

Is that krinkle finish paint better than the usual Dynamat?
Thanks. The coating is actually made by Second Skin Insulation. They call it a viscoelastic sound deadener, 'Spektrum Sludge'. I've used DynaMat before and this works better IMO. Lighter, just as thick but gets better coverage in corners and creases, and has better long term adhesion. I still used DynaMat in a few locations though.

These need to be in every e30 by now! I was a skeptic at first...I thought I'd have "just enough" bass to get by. But NO, I had to turn down my little 500w Infinity 5ch amp because of the massive bass. When I turn it up to show passengers, they initially guess that I'm running 1000w through two 10"s.

still no PM from you, ya tease!

By-the-goddamn-way...I have IDMax 10s and 12"s to model with.

Do you have an assload of power for your woof? What do you need to do to get it back up and running? I assume you have a dual 2 ohm and are gonna parallel it to do a 1 ohm mono load on some 1200 watt beast, right?

Glad you are loving it, bud.

On the other hand, you guys really don't understand how much wallop you get out of these with such tiny power. Seriously, I have heard 100 watt RMS on a $50 woofer sound terrific, like actual boom out of a $50 walmart amp!
