Do all e30's come with central locking?

As the subject states. The PO of my car installed a door off of another car and it doesn't lock/unlock with the drivers side lock. Also the truck won't lock or unlock either door. I feel as though it may not have central locking. I figured they all had it after my POS optionless 325e had it.

    No.
I've had four, all without central locking.

Mine didn't work till I pulled off the frond door panel unplugged all the central locking wires. Than when I plugged them back in it worked. Also I replaced door lock cylinder. It was well worth $35 at pelican.

If I have a car with central locking and one without central locking how hard is it to move over those parts. I've never seen it mentioned before.

You have it if you have a US market E30. (exc MAYBE in an early 318 )

check the bottom of the lock cylinder in your trunk if it has an actuator. if you have one then you have central locking.

Since you're in the US, given the cars listed in your sig since you don't mention which....yes you have central locking. They put it in everything, even the 84 318i I believe.

Off topic, but why would the rears not unlock with the other locks? i.e. manually unlock them.

Not true. I have a 318is that doesn't have them. It's a 3/90 build date, so it was literally one of the first US cars. To my knowledge, US production began in 3/90. It also appears to have come with a 2 button clock, although it was equipped with a sunroof, LSD, and premium audio. Go figure. I have seen one other 318is without central locking, also a march build car.

Anybody else with a 90 318iS that can confirm this? It doesn't make sense that they would install sunroof, premium audio, etc but no central locking? that's pretty basic but I have limited experience with 90-91 318iS'.

These guys seem to think they came standard. Maybe yours just doesn't work?

The central locking harness is built into the main harness, not separate at all. I just parted a central locking car, so I have a complete system that is 100% functional...but to unwrap the entire car harness and make an add on system would take me hours and hours...plus then you would still have to install the damn thing!

If you really REALLY want it, I can do it, but it ain't gonna be cheap. You would also have to add the wiring into the doors, which would require splicing the door jamb wiring as well...assuming you don't have the harness.

If you wanna find out if you have that harness, what you would want to do is take your drivers speaker out and look for a white plug, 2 rows, about 12 or 14 wires on it. IF you do that, take a pic (NOT a cell phone pic please, I need to see wire colors) and post it here.

But to answer your question, yes, it could be done.

BTW: I would expect to find that harness UNDER the cover that fits below your left speaker, in the "well".

Yeah, the vast majority of US E30s do have central locking.

So now that you posted that, time to get some pics together and post them up, say hi and make a thread to introduce yourself.
