Just put mine in the other day. Seems like it hits a bit harder than the infinity 1062w despite being 5db/w less sensitive and transient response is definitely much better. Big thumbs up.

Luke, I have an circa 2004 Alpine V12 Mono-amp. I think it's the MRD-M300 from what I've looked at online (it's in storage so I don't have immediate access to check the number). Now, when I had it powering a 12" infinity reference SVC sub, it didn't exactly make the kind of sound I was hoping for (sub was from a friend), so now I am considering getting a DVC 10" as I like bass that is punchy (i listen to Pink Floyd/Radiohead/Alt Rock not hip-hop). Will this sub in DVC do the trick in a nice ported box sealed into an e36 cabin? The amp only does 150 in 4 ohms but is stable in 2 ohms @ 300 watts.

        Keep it slideways!!

Do you have a fold down rear seat? The solid seat E36 is gonna happen as soon as next month.

          Closing SOON!

I asked online support about DVC and they claimed they were sold out in 10". YMMV.

Solid, non-folding rear seat. That timing is perfect, and I don't really want to make my own as I'll be far away from my tools. Put me down for one, if shipping is a problem to Canada I can get it shipped to a US addy.

That sucks. Any other recommendations or should I simply step up to a better amp and give this one to my brother? Or another good, relatively (<$150) woofer that will kick ass in an efficient box with 300W RMS.

I ordered one of these, SVC because I'm using a stereo amp that's bridged (4 ohm minimum recommended). They sent me a 4 ohm DVC. A quick look at some wiring diagrams shows me either a 2 ohm load or an 8 ohm load, neither of which I really want. Can I just run each stereo channel of the amp to eacn voice coil and run it that way? I have an external crossover, so the amps controls can be completely bypassed.

I really don't think it's worth trying to do a return, but maybe I'll email them anyway.

I luv the intarweb. I found a few links saying it was fine to hook up the voice coils to seperate channels (mono, y'd input to the amp) and few that predict disaster. Oy.

I'm gonna keep it, run it at 8 ohms bridged, and maybe someday I'll get an amp that will do 2 ohms safely. At least I have the flexibility now. Oh, and BTW, this is one pretty nicely turned out woofer! I think the build quality is every bit as good, and maybe better, than my Infinity.

                      Thanks Luke.

Well, how about I buy your DVC and you order another SVC. 10" right?

Brian, find the money to get the Jensen 5 channel at sonicelectronix. $140 and you have all the power you need for the whole system.

how many watts can the dual voice coil handle? 250 per voice coil correct? So I could run my dual channel 400w on it at 200 watts a coil?

I think that may be pushing it. it's 250W total if I recall. I'm running my SVC at 290w rms and it sounds awesome. The VC on it is pretty big so I think it may be able to handle 400rms of CLEAN power. Just be mindful of your gain.
