MB Quart amps have never been in the league of Zapco, old PPL or even older PG IMO. I have a PG tantrum 1200 watt mono block if you want it I would do $200.Custom Made Skid Plates For Sale.

Part of the issue is that those brands aren't owned by the same people or made by the same people anymore. PPI in 1989 was bad ass, military grade, bulletproof top quality shit, now the name is owned by DEI and the shit is all 100% chinese made...on the same assembly line that make about 65% of the car amps made in China, no matter what brand name is on it.
In fact, if you pull covers off of most any Taiwanese amp (like the cheap JL stuff or whatever) they use the same boards on most all of their amps.
I pulled a cover off a DLS amp, supposed to be $900 top end shit. It said "Product of Denmark", but did not say where it was made anywhere...except the circuit board, where it proudly said 'Made in Taiwan". Then, I pulled the cover off a cheap "Pwer Reference" series amp from Memphis, all of which is labeled "made in taiwan"...clearly, the exact same amp, but sold for $350
90% of all car audio is just like this. Most of it is just fine, but if 2 amps are the same product, why pay extra because it says "JL AUDIO" or whatever on the sticker.

lol man this is so true. I used to have a list of amps from many different manufacturers that used the exact same cheap ass internals. There is nothing worse then thinking you are buying a high end amp and finding it was made it china/ taiwan. My buddy was one of the original guys behind Diablo amps, but after he left they went to crap. I used to have a $1000 Diablo amp that had nearly identical internals as another cheap no name brand amp I had made in China. Man I am glad I don't have to pay cash for Diablo LOL.CCW- when every second counts... The police are just minutes away!

If you have a connection with Diablo, get hold of a set of their upper end 5" components.
I have seen them on www.made-in-china.com, but can't find anyone selling them.
