    My (13 button) OBC woes...

So I know there are a bizillion threads on OBC issues, but none of them seem to have an answer to rid me of my woes.

When I bought the car a month ago, it had a CD player in it that wasn't working. Came to find out it wasn't connected to anything (literally just sitting in the stereo slot). Well, my OBC also wasn't working, and I suspected that it, too, was not connected. Those suspicions were correct. I plugged in the harness and VOILA it lives. BUT... I can't do anything with it. It just blinks "----UHR" at me. I can switch through the different menus, and it appears to give me accurate readings, but they're all in metric, celsius, etc.

I've read the owners manual, Bentley manual, Haynes manual, and have looked high and low on R3v and on Google. I've tried using the little reset button about ten different ways to no avail. Am I missing something in the manuals?

    Thanks for any help.

    Found this in another thead:

To switch from metric count to american standard count, select RANGE and then using a ballpoint pen, press the small reset button in the bottom right corner. This will show a different count for: Range, AVG MPG, AVG MPH, and TEMP.

I've tried that already. No luck. Thanks, though.

o rly? Putting it on Range and then hitting the little button should instantly switch it to imperial units.

That's what I was talking about when I mentioned using the "reset" button. It doesn't do anything. Can't reset the clock; can't set it to imperial units; nothin'. Sorry about not being clear.

It does give me a "blink" when I do that though. It just doesn't change anything. Is there only the one the connector on the bottom? Did I not plug something in? There were a lot of wires and connectors just hanging around in there.

          Any ideas?

Try pressing range and pushing the little button at the same time.

Thanks, guys, but this is what I've already tried (to no avail). Perhaps I need a new one.

I'm having the exact same problem. Good luck! I keep a metric conversion chart in my glovebox.

Have you by chance replaced the unit?
