Which is the frustrating thing. I had an X994 and hated it. The awful display and completely terrible buttons drove me nuts.

The display (like most) is always going to be tricky with sunlight. Really dpends on teh car and the decks location. I was able to recess mine so the dash give a bit of shade. The buttons on the other hand, I find very easy to use. Everything is accessible from the dial with ease and the most used items (for me anyway) are near the tops of the menus.

Another plus on this deck is that the AUX connections are on the rear of the deck and I have them routed very low on the center console. Front jacks are just bleh.

I bought the JVC XD-80BT for $165 after seeing BlueAppleSoda's thread. Bluetooth,2 Additional usbs, 2 aux, perfect color match options, 3 4.8V preouts. I haven't installed it yet, but it seems like its the deck I've been waiting for.

That JVC was in my final list, though I ended up going with the Clarion CZ702.

Wow. The MVH-P7300 is an abominable piece of garbage. It's really, really bad.

I thought things were buried in menus on the Kenwood, but this thing takes it to a whole new level. Even simple things are screwed up - you can't wrap around to the other end of a playlist. You have to scroll through the long way.

And finally, the sound quality is shit.

All in all, I'm actually kind of pissed off by how bad this thing is. Pioneer should be ashamed that they released this.

Needless to say, it's going back in the box and getting returned.

Edit: oh yeah, and so far as I can ell, it has no provision for powered antennae, so if you occasionally want radio reception, forget it.

99 dollars at amazon and you can get the color down to almost perfect to match your lights for your e30..its the one im getting here ina few weeks

You mean the KD-X80BT? Saw the same thread, and bought the same HU the same night, haha. Should be here mon/tues. Can't wait. Hoping it's good.

I got that the day it was released. Awesome IMO, probably the best single din out there currently. Check that the firmware is updated.
I too was bummed that the Parrot Asteroid has so many bugs. That and it only has 2 pre-outs....

For best readability, I changed it to read like an e-ink display such as the Amazon Kindle. Display N/P set to Posi1, display colors set to R:9 G:9 B:9 and the buttons to 24. Its readable always, direct sunlight or not. Contrast set to 4. Ill upload a pic tomorrow as at night its too bright for the camera I have, but not distracting at night to me while driving.
