    E30 battery recommendations

My e30's always had a hard time charging at idle. Because of this issue my girlfriend had to jump it.....backwards :( I know it needs an alternator(I have a good one off my part car) I believe I now need a battery it is almost impossible to get the car started jumping it. So I'm going to replace the battery and alternator in hopes that is the extent of the damage. It does run once I get it going but if I shut it off I lose all power instantly I can't even get a dim domrlight.

What specs should I be looking for? It's an 85 325e with a mild system 1000w alpine 4 chan running the miss and a 500w running the 12. I have a power cap I can install if necessary.

I have an Interstate MTP-91 and it's been perfect for the past couple years. I'd recommend one any day.

do not purchase the napa branded batteries anymore, they no longer come with a vent tube due to their redesign.

If your car stays running with a known dead battery then your alternator has to be putting out. I'd do the battery 1st.

Mesning that unless u can fabricate one into their redesigned exhausr, prepare to inhale hazardous battery vapors when rhe battery experiences prolongue heavy load.

It won't stay running under 2000 rpm for the first 30 minutes it running

Have you checked the voltage at the battery? 13.8 or so with car running usually means your alternator is ok.

you know most auto parts stores will do a charging system and battery test for free, right? it will tell you what your problem is.
