    Vdo oil psi problemh

    Hello,

I connected the oil psi gauge in my car but when the positive and negative are connected the needle goes all the way to max, when I connect the sender to the gauge it goes back to 0 but it never reads no matter if the engine is cold or hot.

Any ideas, Im tired of searching and I don't if I need to replace de gauge or sender.

    Thanks

Switch the ground and sender wires. If that doesnt work try another sender / gauge.

Sounds like a bad ground. There are instructions somewhere to differentiate what a pegged needle means and one that isn't.

Where did you install the sender?

Well the thing this was working before I swap the s52 engine into my e30.

The sender has two pins one for the cluster light and the other one for the gauge, + and -.

The sender is install somewhere behid the s52 oil cooler, the + is connected to the distribution block in thr front of the car passenger side and the - to the strut housing.
