Speedometer and 13 Button OBC issue

Speedometer and 13 Button OBC issue

I recently pulled my cluster out to fix an intermittently working speedo by re-soldering joints. Afterward soldering and re-install of the cluster everything was working great.

Only today The speedo stopped working and for some odd reason my OBC screen is not lighting up all the way the same time, I can see the numbers but they are super dim. The screen was bright as ever yesterday.

Any ideas on whats going on? If im not mistaken the OBC is directly connected to the speedo for MPG readings right?

That is correct. Try changing out the three fuses associated with the instrument cluster. Also check the cluster grounds above the brake pedal. They are brown wires mounted to one of the two 10mm nuts on a bracket near the steering column. Make sure the ring lugs are clean and secure.

well it worked for a few days then it went kapoot. lol. I ended up changing the 7.5 amp
with a 30 amp fuse because a 10 and 15 kept blowing. Everything is perfecto now except I have a speedo that wants to work only sometimes LOL

Ill just get a new cluster.

Since you replaced your 7.5A fuse with a 30A, you might be making a new thread about how to repair an electrical fire in your dash. I've seen it happen many times.

Your vehicle wiring is now the fuse. You probably have a short somewhere in your cluster. Unplug the cluster and see if it blows 7.5A fuses.
