    Econometer Problem

My 92 E30 econometer is acting weird...after I start my car, it will "stuck" at the far left (40) level no matter what I do on the throttle...it will not move a bit at all. But when my speed go beyond around 70 mph, it will "swing" to the far right and stay pretty much constant at around 5. When I relax my throttle, it will swing back toward far left. If my speed is more then 70 mph, it will swing back to around 5, but if speed is below 70 mph, it will still stuck at far left (40)...what is my problem? My Tech is working fine and mt Temp gauge is also working fine...I have no clue...Can anyone share?

I would first suspect a damaged Si board, see my thread on Si board damage. Next guess would be dying SI board batteries. Lastly, I would suspect a bad motor for that needle.

Did you check for damage on the inside corners of the board?
