Must be pretty weak connectors if you can crimp down 2b&s connectors with plyers. Make sure you give it a good tug! If they crimp down that easy they must come apart easy. Best to use propper crimpers or crush in a vice. From what I can see in that image they need crushing alot more.Boris - 89 E30 325i

This is painfully stupid.
You don't use fucking pliers to crimp wire, especially big wire.
The idea is to get enough "crush" that all of the conductors are squished into a giant hunk of metal.
Get yourself a tool like this at a minimum:

Obviously you didn't read the previous comment where I said it gets crush a lot more. I have proper wire crimpers but just wanted to show that you don't need to buy $400 tools to do it. I have been running this on my car for a while now and haven't had any issues.Comment

Kids, please ignore this. Use a proper crimper. They are $25, not $400.Comment

Here's one that anyone can afford. Do it the right way.
The Radaflex cable is great too.1973 BavariaComment

I'm not a fan of either of those crimpers.
OP, you have no idea how many times I've seen that exact ring lug type fail...so many times. I promise you, if that cable ring lug were to fail and the wire is not fused, you will end up with an electrical fire. I have seen it.
I actually solder every rung lug that I make but even if I did not, I trust my crimp, even without soldering.
Before I had this tool, I used long handle Klein crimpers, then solder/heat shrink.Owner - Bavarian Restoration

And don't use run of the mill china audio power cable. Hammer crimpers are the shit and they are cheap. This thread is fucking retarded.:hitler:Comment

You can make your own crimper. The DIY solar guys have been doing it for years. And they are making connectors that supply power to a house - not a car.
(he should have left a bit more copper on the connection side of the crimp IMHO - by 2-3 mm)
I would recommend some real wire though. Anytime I see anything with a translucent insulator, it's usually for show. Not that's it always bad, but usually it's cheap cable marketed for looks and not performance.
Oh, and I would bring up solder, but a.) I know how that makes Luke's head explode, and b.) I know how that makes Luke's head explode.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment
