I got the one I used from pep boys. Permatex I believe. ~$3 as well and it came with instructions... ;)
It sets pretty quick so you have like 2-3 seconds to position it after touching it to the glass. It said it needed to be help on for 2 minutes I think but after 10 seconds it stuck there so hard I just let it go and it's up there since. Did this during my lunch break and let it dry until got off work and had a mirror on my way home. :DComment

I don't. I'll snap some tomorrow for you.
I found a problem with this mirror that I didn't notice the first time around. The sun visor hits the corner of the mirror when i fold it down. I did put the mount as high as I could so the mirror blocks the least amount of view. it might be the reason why.Comment

you can see it in my last picture. it goes right under the piece that holds the check panel by the windshield gasket. It is still my homemade wire, not the BMW connector. That one has a rubber piece that goes between the trim and the mirror to hide the wires and is ticker so a little notch needs to be made on the trim.Comment

BMW Homelink/Compress/Alarm Mirror Retrofit?

Thanks for the helpful writeup.
Debating on leaving the rain sensor cover on. Since it didn't blackout the glass. I sprayed some leftover black plastidip straight on the glass

I picked up the pigtail from the pick pull. I didn't find any home link mirrors there but I pulled the rain cover from a 2000 5 series since it was smaller. The mirror came off eBay from a 2012 5 series. Has a flat smoked clown nose and not a big red clown noseComment
