    Help: Gauge lights don't work!

Hey guys, need some help, bought another e30, been fixing all of the P.O. issues.

All 4 of the gauges work, but none of the backlights in the cluster light up, the indicator lights at the bottom of the cluster do work though.

I originally thought it may be the headlight switch, I bought a used one off of the forums, didn't help. I bought a second cluster, didn't work.

    Any ideas?

Any of your dash lights work? HVAC Panel?

The gauge cluster is lit with only two bulbs. They could both just be out.

Maybe you should start with replacing fuse 10, 12, and 21.

Having same problem. Did you check for voltages on the red/Gray wires that lead to each light ?

Edit: after pulling out the headlight switch of course

It could be a few things, first check to make sure the fuses all work, thats the easiest fix. If they are ok check the two bulbs behind the cluster. If they are good, check the gray red and gray white wires under the dash. Mine were cut, not sure why, the PO created a mess in my car.

Just sourced my similar problem to the rheostat of the headlight switch. It had a break in the coil, so I soldered it .. Testing tonight

I documented the repair... check http://imgur.com/a/9brdS
