yeah the R'Active muffler is weak sauce.... Previous owner installed it... actually sounds decent, so i havent bothered to replace it yet.
we'll see how the rest of the projects turn out this spring... maybe I'll have something else on the back end of my exhaust that nobody else has... heheheBelow the radar...Comment

Do a 10 thats easy to remove then. FG box or something. My drives would be sooo boring without my sub. Anyway.Originally posted by rwh11385Because they are heavy. Weight sucks. I like bass and all, but I mean they are heavy. That's why.Originally posted by BMW BMXERwhy are subs dumb in an e30?

not everyone who drives an e30 drives it only in auto-x i drive mineon 3+ hour trips semi-regularly and i dont care if you car is a f355 with a tubi exhaust... 3 hours of 75-80 mph exhaust drone is not a nice thing...
i good stereo is a must in my cars...
and infinity kappa perfect = too fragile and alpine type r = mediocre
too much marketing hype not enough actual performance...

set-up
Current set-up:
Sony CDX-660 (not my favorite but free) has the 10 preset buttons at the bottom
Stock BMW premium sound speakers with stock amplifier.
The old stuff actually sounds better than the setup in my jeep and the bmw speakers are 17 years old.
Custom built angled sub box with 2 12 inch traction-helpers (in winter anyways)
They are Reactor subs, 3 years old and pounding like new.
I run an 800 watt Power Acoustic amplifier.
Future set-up:
Alpine head unit, probably 9815
Infinity speakers up front and out back
2 12 inch alpine type-r's more than likely
possibly keep the same amplifier.
If you think some of you guys have some "weight" in the back check out the set-up my friend and I built for a civic......
Old and improved:

Re: set-up
LOL, you know some one is a bass-head when they have 2 12"s in the trunk and stock mids in the cab.Originally posted by EtaSportCurrent set-up:
