    Discussion: Window Roll Up Module

All of you guys who wanted a cheap way to make your windows "one touch" or automatic rollup when arming your remote...

Finally got a chnce to install ScyTek's new window rollup module. I am so happy wiht the thing that I just can't believe it.

A small module, the only thing you have to run is a power wire to the center console, then connect to the stock window wiring. It has 2 wires to trigger the module. One rolls both windows all the way up, the other rolls them down.

Get this...when it hits 100 degrees inside the car, both windows open a crack.

This module will either roll 4 windows up OR 2 windows up and down. For you people who want to just roll all 4 down with one button, this would work as well, but you would want two modules.

Since the Subaru I did them on yesterday was 4 windows, we did 2 modules. We connected the "up" trigger to a "ground when armed" wire, so while armed, the windows do 2 things...one, when you arm, all 4 windows roll all the way up. Second, when armed, if you hit the button to roll down, all 4 windows vent. This works cool as hell, and is a really cool option.

Interesting gadget - can't say I'd want one, but the temp sensor doodad would be nice in July/August when its 90+ frequently.

Can you get those Scytek Skytrak systems? My son starts driving in a couple of years, and I think that would be a good device to get.

Do you have any experience with them? Any idea how well they work?

Scytek the same people that make the keyless entry add-on modules everyone gets off ebay? I'd be interested in a gizmo that has the keyless entry, alarm, and window rollup features. Is that something they make, or do I buy separate components? If you dont mind, PM a price quote (I'll install it, just need the bits), and if I can make the $$ work I'll take a drive to springfield.

BT, as cheap as I work, it just might be worth the while for you to come down and have me do it!

I need a decent steering rack and a windshield...got parts?

Peek through the catalog on www.cytek.net and let me know what you want.

hey cool, I've wanted one-touch windows forever. would I still retain the ability to open/close the windows part way? could I hook one up to my sunroof?

Those sound nice. I put the autolock ones on my windows and sunroof awhile back.

What if you live in the desert where it could be raining in 100+ weather? :)

Good price too for both windows.

                      Luke,
I'll take one. It will work with my e36 window switches, and my existing alarm, right?
Will you provide a set of instalation instructions?

I will send you money once you are ready.

i thought about a way to make e36 switches one touch work for each window but it involves 8 units, 8 pulse timers to be exact. it would take 2 per window one for up one for down, if i can find some green base switches (i actually have one) and the wiring which i dont have maybe i can figure out some more

Dave, sorry I didn't answer your earlier question.

I have not even seen one of those SkyTrak units. I have had about 99% perfection of the other products I have used from ScyTek, so I can trust that it will do as it says. Seems like a really good quuality company...

Can you get me a scematic of those switches? If they have a sepeate wire for the "one touch" circuit, I can make this happen easily, and really cool.

Otherwise, they work exactly as described.

Ordering more on monday, should be here thursday or so.
