Thank you to Luke and others that recommend I do this. My new pioneer deck w/ HD radio and 6 4v preouts sounds amazing. Followed your amp tuning guide and sound is clean and powerful (minus some alt whine which I will troubleshoot) the OG Kenwood amp has crystal clear separation and you can feel the snare drums hit. I just realized that I've never had an amp to the main speakers in any car ever. How dumb. I do have a few questions, I noticed a good amount of air movement through the various holes at the front kick sheet metal with the sound turned up. Should I try to seal up the kick as much as possible so that it acts like a speaker enclosure? Also, I kinda want to pull the foam of the kick panels. Bad idea or just personal preference?

Should I use this OG Alpine amp or HU?

Well, my beloved punchy Alpine died. It made a popping noise and quit altogether. I tryied to replace the caps, resistors and such but still no sucess. Soooo, im selling my Phoenix Gold zx350 on ebay to fund a low cost 4 channel and a mono for the sub. I'm preparing to be disappointed but my car is loud and at 46 my hearing is not-so-much anymore. I might just go for an Alpine class D (it even hurts to say it) digital (ouch) amp for $140 on amazon. I'm open to suggestions. I hate having such a low budget. You say "Where are your other two cylinders?"
I say "Where's your other camshaft?"
Frankenmotor: if an M42, M44, M20, S50, and S52 were to have a kid.

There are lots of great little amps out there, but IMO, none are outstanding.
Take a peek at MBQuart, I bet you like the looks of them.
