    Keyless Entry REC-43T

Hello all, I installed the Omega Research Keyless Entry REC-43T and only the lock button works unlocking doesn't work, I replaced the central locking control unit with others that i had laying around but that didn't help and i tried wiring it through the front driver side by the kickpanel but still nothing. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it?

I have installed similar devices including the REC-43T using the trunk actuator using the power from the antenna.

Exactly how i set it up, I have this same unit installed in my 91' 318i and it works perfectly so i swapped unit to make sure it wasn't the unit and unit works fine. Its just the unlock cable not seeming to work.

Reversed polarity? I dunno. Good luck!

Double check your unlock splice. Probably a bad connection.

Make sure your drivers door lock is not double locked

Follow the directions on how to reset and program the buttons. I don't remember exactly but I know there is a sequence of presses on the module and the key fob u need to do in order to get the key fob to mate up. Took me dozens of times and finally got it to pair....if it doesn't work w one fob, try it w the extra one they gave u

Have the same one. Usually the connection on the unit is loose. make sure the unit is mounted secure and there is no strain on wires. I hope you did it correctly and put it under the dash right by the module.

Wow, good to see that people are still using my how-to article.

OP, did you mess with any of the little switches on the REC-43T? IIRC, the default position that they are in when you get the unit is the correct one. Also, as mentioned above, make sure that the double-lock is not engaged on the driver's door or the trunk.
