    Power windows alternatives/options

    Hello!
Search have me no other options to ask this question.
Is it possible to use some power window regulators from another make or some other BMW model to convert my crank operated windows to electric?
I have a 1987 pre coupe. Eu version

Probably because the overwhelming majority of US e30 cars came with power windows so not many people are converting to power windows because they already have them.

Lots of track guys convert to manual windows from power, but not the other way around.

There are after market kids that are "universal" for converting to electric windows. Autoloc is by far the top seller of them. Not to say they are good. They market to more of the hot rod crowd.

I'm not familiar with early euro cars, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have the bolt holes already stepped out for stock e30 parts.

What about using E36 parts for this? Will they fit?

            No. Totally different parts.

Why not just use stock e30 parts?

Each to their own, but manual windows rarely give any trouble....30yr old electric window systems are notorious for having issues.

No in my experience. Switches do if you spray armor-all on them. And some times people have a broken regulator. But all in all, not a bad system. Compare that to a e46/x5. Well wel all know about that mess.
