Adding a subwoofer output/ amp with Premium Stereo

    Hello

Finally have a car with the original headunit and it works, so I plan to do the bluetooth upgrade soon from cantaloupe. I want to keep the OEM headunit so this adds a little challenge...

I have a Lukebox I want to hook up and Im wondering if theres a way to replace the factory Amp that the Premium audio has with a 5 channel or something like that to add a subwoofer output. Or is there another option that will retain the stock headunit?

Just replace the factory amp with an amp that can accept speaker level inputs, or add a speaker to line level converter, then you can use any amp you want.

Awesome, my plan was to replace the factory amp so this is great. Im not an audiophile so I wasnt sure it would work.

          Thanks

I use a $5 Line Output Converter (LOC) to convert speaker level outputs to line level (RCA) inputs so I could add a subwoofer and amp to the stock system in my E39. Works great and retains the factory amp for the highs/mids. Very easy to do.

As for Bluetooth, people have integrated it into the stock HU. I'm sure there are threads somewhere.

              Thanks Barry,

I'll have to look into those LOCs... as far as bluetooth that part is already on the list with a cantaloupe setup.

as far as the amp goes any recs for a good 5-channel?
