MB Quart is the BOMB. Nothing better for a German car than German speakers.

$80 is a fair price for them. They'll most likely sound better than anything you've heard in a car.

I don't think you can bridge the internal deck amp safely.

Yes, but aren't MBQ's bi-ampable? Meaning, he could send all 4 channels of the headunit towards the front setup. The fader would become a neat crossover adjustment. ;)

Most MBs are biamplifiable, and that is definitely the route to take for SQ.

                        How cheap?

If you're going to buy a cheap amp why not buy cheap speakers?

I'd look for a used a/d/s/ amp. One that puts out about 40x4 rms into 4 ohms. Since you have a component set you won't need to worry about the lack of x-over. And you can biamplify the component set too. I'd wait on ebay and get an a/d/s/ PQ10.2 or look for a Phoenix Gold M44. Both amps should be around $150 on eBay.

any opinion on Viper amplifiers? My friend offered me a 2 channel 150.2 unit for $80. It is 50x2 at 4 ohms.

Viper? Never heard of it... I'd pass.

Check eBay for a Rockford Fosgate 400.4 - I *think* they're a 1998 model (back when they were better quality amplifiers).
