I was waiting for him to chime in. I'd say if that is his response, you should ask again, more firmly for at least a reasonable compensation and if he still has a not my problem attitude, I'd file a dispute with the mode of payment you used and make it his problem.

I'm sort of waiting for him to chime in too... I payed with Paypal so hopefully I should be able to file a complaint. I'll give him until monday to respond to my last PM and then the gloves are coming off.

Have you checked that K band is turned on? Start up your V1 in diagnostics mode. Check all of the settings in there.

personally i would of waited to ship it off to valentine till the originaly seller said something.... sending it off to valentine first without atleast giving the seller some time to do something and then expecting him to pay up is kinda lame. but anyways goodluck with your situation.

I waited, I tested, I covered everything I could think of. Bottom line it didn't pick up K band, no matter what I tried. My only option was to send it back to them. I asked him very nicely if he could help out with the repair costs, and he said it wasn't his problem and that I should take it up with UPS.

I got the V1 back today, MAN what a difference! It was very clearly not functioning properly before, but it is now, and I managed to do a rather clean hardwire install that I'm proud of. There's still some wires flopping around my glovebox but I'll zip-tie them away eventually.

I also have a remote display but i haven't bothered installing it yet, what do you guys think is the best location for it, if any?

I've seen pictures of it placed above the radio. It looked like if you remove two of the buttons in that area and cut the bezel out a little, you can fit the display right there.

That was my first thought too. The only thing is I'm not sure I want to rely on the remote display all the time, but when it's there I wouldn't be able to unplug it very easily. I suppose I could just unplug it in the glovebox though...

same shit happened to my friend through craiglist....thought we had found a nice deal for a v1, ends up shits stolen and valentine won't touch it with a 10 ft pole, even if i put 400$ on the 10 ft pole. Paid $300, without bracket or wires or anything. Go to the seller, get no response, go to paypal, says fuck off. Lesson learnt. Spend the extra dollar or two and make sure your shit works. I mean all this trouble over a couple bucks?
