I find that the analog clock loses a couple of minutes every couple of weeks. But it looks so much better in the dash than my 6 button OBC...

I know that whenever I am able to squeeze my hand through the OBC hole I always regret the decision when it is time to remove my hand.
If you really don't have a harness you could just run new wires to your clock, that is what I did before finding this thread (I just lazily wired it up hot without illumination).West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.Comment

this is a great writeup. Works perfectly if followed, make sure to undo the battery connections, and be careful not to lose the screws.sigpicComment

Apologies for the bump, but I'll be following this writeup tomorrow :) Using bullet connectors since that's all I have around. I've had the clock in the car for a while just never bothered to wire it in haha.
Edit: Just installed it. peerless' additions made it very easy. Worked the first time I reconnected the battery. Thanks!
I'll take pics soon when I make more progress with the interior :)Last edited by SimplyDope; 04-13-2011, 04:46 PM.Comment

is there any other way of wiring this up besides using a power mirror connection, or the stock plug? Im hoping to find like single connectors for each connection (if that makes any sense)-Brad, AlphaTeam Motorwerks, LLC

Why? Just use the mirror plug, it fits right in and makes it really easy. Don't make more work for yourself than you need to.Comment

I'm trying to re-install my multi-function clock, but remember where each original wire goes. Any have this info? Thanks

Just installed my analogue clock following OP's instructions, clock is running great. However, now the SRS light on the over head display continuously blinks. Anyone have this happen to them?1990 BMW 325i CoupeComment

Could one of these be used instead of butt connectors? Just seems if I ever wanted to go back to original it would be much easier.
Is this the correct way to get to the clock so I can install it?

You can use whatever you want, even electric tape. ;)
It just won't be a clean, professional look, and can be explosive to your car.Comment
