    : Radar / Laser protection thread :

I though it would be a good idea if r3v had a thread for some info on Radar / Laser scanners, blockers, scramblers, and all the other stuff.

Im thinking of getting a Valentine One with a Escort Shifter ZR3.

Done some research and them seem like the best combo.

    Discuss .

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

i've had an escort x50 hardwired in my S4 for 2 years. it's saved me from numerous tickets and provides great peace of mind when travelling "at speed." iirc, the V1 has dual antennae, and the x50 has 1. 1 yields greater range/sensitivity and 2 yields or rather allows for the almighty arrows for which the V1 is known. i don't have any personal experience with the V1 but the x50 has been reliable and effective, providing ample notice even in the mountain passes of CO with all the blind corners, switchbacks, elevation change, and so on. the easy interface in which to change preferences, which are sufficent, is a bonus, providing easy adjustability to suit one's needs. obvious ajustments; volume, 4 level brightness, display, and my favorite features; expert mode that allows for display of up to 6 signals at once, and the remote mute button on the "smart cord" which i've positioned just under the dash next to the steering wheel, where the alert led is easily visible while driving at night with the detector dsiplay on dark mode. much cheaper than speeding tickets in the long run. I had the x50 zr3 combo in the cabrio- saved me lots and lots of money and headache. The lazer is ofcourse only useful in urban areas, and be sure to keep x-band on if you're going through oregon.

I don't know what the v1 is like, but I love my x50.

agh. this is a over covered topic and it always boils down to EVERYONE has a V1 because every one else has one. the Escort works just as well and is cheaper i believe. along with being compatible with the zr3 shifter. to me its all about the $ because knowing where the signal is coming from is a waste, cause any type of signal coming from any direction should be paid attention to. "better laser detection" is BS because laser is instant on, youre not going to pick it up any sooner, by the time the detector goes off its to late anyways.so im sure there will be plenty of people to counter my point but thats my .02

So which band is suited for Europe?? I've heard they use Ku band here, and wasn't sure if either devices(v1 or x50) would be able to support.. Any ideas..
