    Shitty ported boxes are boomy & nasty. A properly designed ported box can be just as clean as a sealed one, and have lower frequency extension. The only real trade-off is that ported boxes can lead to over-excursion of drivers around the port resonance frequency (very little acoustic damping compared to sealed boxes)...but if you actually manage to damage your driver, well you probably deserve it. Damn kids & your rap musics...get off my lawn.

      lol, yea the bass in these damn rap music easily over power the midrange and highs.
