    Advice/opinions/suggestions wanted on proposed stereo

Looking for a little advice/opinions on a budget stereo for my car. It's a '90 325is with premium sound.

The previous owner installed some sort of JVC H/U that I plan to replace with an Alpine CDA-9856 I have simply for the Alpine's ipod interface and my familarity with it.

I did some searching on here and it seems the general opinion is that the factory premium speakers aren't bad once you cut the factory amp out of the mix.

    So my plan is this:

Use the Alpine H/U I have, delete the rear factory speakers from the reardeck and reupholster over the openings, delete the factory amp, and get a single 8" subwoofer and amp to run everything.

I plan to use the car as a hybrid track/street car so the rear seat is out and there is a roll bar in it's place. I was thinking of making a rear bench of sorts to house the sub and amp in the seat's place.

Any suggestions? I'm trying to keep this on a low budget of course.

Roundel, August 2007. Great article about updating the e30 radio. Im in the process of doing mine. There is a guy who posted pics of the article on BFC., Not the best but better if you cant grab an issue.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

      1. Get 10"
      2. Sealed against skipass into the cabin... Or maybe even infinite baffle, but that's not for everybody.

        Bump for input.

Thinking about doing what I said and deleting the rears and factory amp, then finding a decent 5-channel amp and 8" or 10" sub for fill.

        Any suggestions or input?

Anyone selling anything that fits my needs?

I have a cheap 8" and lower power 6 channel amp. I can do both for $100 + shipping. PM me if interested.
