    E30 Hardtop

I just bought a hardtop for a pretty good price but needs some work. Does anybody know what kind of shop to contact to redo it? Any idea the cost to get it redone? Here are some pictures

Man that's pretty rough, I got quoted somewhere around $800 for just headliner when I had mine if I remember correctly. Hopefully you did in fact get it for a good price, your looking at $1500 minimum I'd say.

Edit: I cant even tell, what is that in pic #4? Is that old headliner glue or is the actual top deteriorating?

That looks like the foam between the headliner and actual roof is tearing away

You have an excellent opportunity to paint your new hardtop body-color and increase its value.

As for the headliner.. I would DIY that as much as you can

I paid approximately $300 to have the headliner redone on my hardtop. Assuming the fiberglass structure is good, the real risk to the value of a hardtop is the seal. Last time I checked the cost of a new seal + installation is more than the market value of a hardtop.

I would say around 1,500 to 2,000. Do you want it to be redone in vinyl or painted?

A local shop did my headliner last year for about $200 but my old headliner was just falling down and the foam was in good shape. No idea how much you're looking at to have the outside redone. I don't even know where you'd find material that's similar to oem. I'd be tempted to try painting it.

I'm looking for a hardtop in rough condition. Any chance you'd be willing to part with it? I'm in orlando and have cash. My vert is rotting away before me eyes...

If that top is worth $1300, I may put mine up for sale!

Hey sorry I completely forgot about this thread. I had put a deposit for the top and didn't end up buying it. After reading this thread I'm glad I didn't. I really wanted a hardtop but nervous about the condition its in. I ended up installing a soft top which was easier than I expected. Thanks for the input guys
