Just finished up refreshing the suspension on my 318iC.

H&R Cabrio Sport Springs, E90 Drophats, Bilstien sports.

These are all great but has anyone installed the megan racing coil overs? I'm wondering how they work on a convertible

Im sure they would, I might worry about the rear springs pancaking due to extra weight.

My mechanic told me if I put non vert springs on my vert that will lower it about a inch, is this true ???

Only in the rear.

I meant to say rear springs, so if true? Would I have to change struts also ?

The struts will be the same as coupe/sedan models BUT if you are lowering the car and using coupe/sedan springs (thus lowering the car more than the convertible aftermarket springs would lower it) then you are further shortening the range of travel. For lowered E30s, Bilstein Sport or Koni Sport are the recommended option but you are going to lower it well into their travel range and thus risk bottoming out even the Sport struts.

There are no shorter E30-designated struts but you may find another application (Camaro, maybe...I can't remember) that is shorter than the ones designed for E30s.

Thanks for the info, Ill have to think about what I'm doing, I have front BC racing coilovers, I have stock vert rear suspension, I just want to lower the rear about 3/4, but I can't find anywhere that just sale rear lower suspension..

You could use stock coupe/sedan springs to get .75-1" lowering. With the BCs being adjustable in the front you could dial it in to match the rear. Plus stock springs are cheap and take about 10 minutes to install.

That's was the plan but what you said before made rethink a little bit, but if I decided to go with coupe springs I should definitely use koni or bilstein. which is softer strut I don't want that rough of a ride

I have ie rear coilover adjuster and swift spring you could use for $100 shipped. You would have full setup then go out or down depending on the look and what model e30 you have.

If you use bilstein sports you will NOT have a soft ride..period. That's the singular compliant you hear about them and having just swapped them out on my cabrio for Koni SAs I'm not spekaing out of my ass (just this once).

I'm on H&R cabrio specific springs and the ride is as good as it gets IMO

The previous owner of my cabrio had them "professionally installed"; I'm in the process of raising in the ride height because the car was scraping on everything -- you could probably drop your car into the 7th circle of hell with these if you wanted. As per documentation on Megan's site, you'll want spacers if you have stock offset wheels otherwise the inner sidewall of the tire will rub against the top locking collars (NOT SAFE). I can try to answer any questions you might have though.
