    Fuel Gauge help needed

Hi, new user so thanks in advance for reading and any help you can offer.

    ‘89 325is new to me.

fuel gauge is mostly stuck on empty all the time. If I persistently knock on the gauge it might move a little or not at all.

removed back seat and did ohm testing on both senders, one at around 20 with tank half-ish full, the other (passenger/fuel pump side) at zero.

I’m trying to figure out whether it’s a sender issue or a gauge/grounding issue before I spend any money or go further.

    thanks

remove sender from the tank and flip it upside down while connected. if the gauge moves you know it works.

82eye thanks for the reply. A couple follow up questions; which sender do I remove, drivers side or passenger side? If it flip it upside down and the gauge doesn't move, then it's a gauge issue correct? Thanks

passenger side is pump, driver's side is sender. if you flip the sender and nothing happens the sender has had it.

Search my threads. I posted a fix for this quite a few years back.
