    project vert shadowline

shadowline complete! and black out grill as well. I used plastidip, I've always had good results with this product. Just make sure all parts are clean!!

    Steps:
    1. remove trim:

just pull carefully and all the trim will come off. rain gutter might be the most difficult. I think it helps pulling from the bottom edge first.

soft top cover is so easy. look underneath the cover and there are some clips on the back. tap the center of them and they will help release the trim.

    2. clean!!

denatured alchohol really cleans off wax and grease from the parts

    3. sand:

i used 220 to get a good dull finish on the chrome.

    4. Paint: start light and increase coverage. make sure to wait 30 min in between each coat! total 4-5 coats.

    5. reinstall

you can really enjoy the crappy body work from the history of the car once the trim is off! overspray!!

Looks good. I am having my "new" cabby touched up and might have him paint the trim, I think I will do this too. Thanks

I'm hoping you used SEM Trim paint. I wouldn't go with anything less. I'd still buy it at $20 a bottle if I needed it.

I have a black cabby, so the chrome actually looks good on it
now you need to smoke your side lights

I get along with my local dealer pretty well,
I trained him finally and I am just buying the shadowline pieces new at a really good discount off of list....
                        2/week or every other week...
I will have it done in another month at this rate...

I did mine last year with plasti-dip as well. Have had no wear at all, but I never put the top up. :)
