the only immediate issue with this solution is once you seal the headlight back up, replacing a dead LED would be near impossible. (i had one dead after a few months)
Instead of putting it in the headlight what if you put it behind the grill next to it?

I took you pic and did a quick ms paint mock LOL
Ive thought of this same idea, but im in fear the midification is to "new" for the car. it seems way ahead of its time. Plus there is a retaining screw in the middle on the bottom slot to hold the grill on. You would either not use the bottom slot, or have a weird gap in between :D
I just cut a piece out of the middle of the rubber trim and kept my turn signals. Used the same methods with the washers, just put 1 in the middle
I would rather replace the whole trim cause putting a piece from an other car may be noticable. The wear patters may look different, thus revieling the replaced piece, unless you get lucky.
Ive been wanting to tinker with little projects like that just for fun. I think I will try and make a nice set to see how it looks with proper housing and all.

This is true in my because only because I used plastidip... Which when applied to rubber gets hot a sticky. A little bit of driving and I have rocks stuck only in the rubber section lol
Did it mostly so I could put the plate on easily though. Maybe working against me though :???:
