              Small o ring on the shaft or thinly sliced piece of vacuum hose will do the job well.

                      I did what he did, but instead of tape just put a small piece of felt and jammed it back in there....they move easily by touch, but stay still, even on the biggest bumps/potholes with my stiff suspension.
