I just recieved my Z4 2.5 SSK. My product number doesn't match any on the thread for the 2.5. I have 25 11 7 543 192. Is there any other way to make sure I got the right one. Measurements for the ball to the bottom of the shift lever?

I just want to make sure that I have the right one before I install. It is really small and has very little length from the pivot ball to the bottom if that helps at all

Here's an idea, compare it to the one in the pic, lol

are those actual sizes cause my lever is about the same size as the 2.5? I am sure I have the right one because this is really short at the bottom. Thanks for the help

longer at the bottom = longer shift.

I got an x5 lever then welded on an extention to the bottom part so it was as long as i could get it without touching the driveshaft. It feels pretty damn nice. Half the car is still on the garage floor though so i still havent driven with it.

Well I got the 2.5 because I don't want to bend anything. The 3.0 is longer at the bottom but doesn't that shorten the throw more than the 2.5? I thought I read that.

But obviously it will be a lot shorter than stock?

Why don't you drop BMA a call tomorrow and have them check the part number on that shifter for you?

Make sure you have the right unit.

For what it's worth, I am sporting the Z4 2.5 kit and love it.

I called them and they confirmed that it was the Z4 2.5 lever. Thanks for the help. One more thing, I have seen a lot of links to places that talk about the shifters and how they function and things but this is the first time I have ever installed something mechanically on my car. Anyone know about a link that has detailed instructions w/ pics?

Fuck, Im so on the fence about which way to go Between the Z4 3.0 , Z3 1.9 or the Ireland Engineering Kit that I just found?
                                Any suggestions?

I was initially set on Z4 3.0 but then after hearing how notchy some find it I was hesitant. That circumstance I think I can only solve by driving a car with it in and deciding for myself waht I think. However aside from that some guys say the Z3 1.9 is the best (I think similar to the Z4 2.5, both less nothcy then 3.0 but not as short throws either, maybe smoother im assuming tho?)

Then I saw the IE SSK that just came out on their site and it seems like a great kit for the price, weighted collar and all, HAS ANYONE HEARD ANY FEEDBACK ON IT OR BETTER YET HAVE IT OR TRIED IT?

Any suggestions of feedback on all the above would be great, springs around the corner gotta decide soon so I can get this badboy back out on the road :)

                                Thanks Fellas
