Great thread, but nobody clarified how to address the side vents. What did you guys do to seal those rubber flaps? I was thinking about that spray foam but then again that seems cheap and wrong.

I took a square of plastic and just duct taped it around the vents "sealing" them up. I pulled the drain plugs from the side trays in the trunk so that if water got in there it would vent. If you live in a snowier area or if it rains more, you'd probably want more of a permanent solution though. In TN, it worked fine.
I'm pretty new at this.
I have an E30 from 1986, and I was wondering if there was any way I could change/buy or install the newer bumpers from 89+ on my bmw.
