    IE long tube header install

is anyone aware of any tricks to wrestle an IE long tube header in to the car ? engine is installed.

so far i've managed to determine the front bank will clear the ac lines and compressor, the oil cooler lines, and the oil filter and housing, but the oil filter looks pretty trapped. the rear bank will clear the frame rail. they look to locate correct under the car as well.

issue is i can't seem to get both banks in. once one bank is in the bay, there's not enough space to squeeze the other in. i've removed the oil cooler and filter housing for extra room, and i can drop the ac compressor, but i'm not sure it'll gain me anything.

i'm praying i don't have to pull the engine out of the car to hang them. wondering if i have to pull an engine mount or something.

lmk if you have any ideas, i have to get an exhaust on this thing soon to try a start up.

i've dropped the ac compressor and can still only force one bank in. someone must have used a set of these here before. i'm 2 days in with no solution in sight.

Not sure about IE LT but removing/loosening engine mount and jacking up or lowering that side is not an unusual requirement for header fitment. Can use a engine support stand to lower the subframe if you get desperate

also screw in studs can be helpful but may cause issues down the line

Those headers are long. I think you need to move some items out of your way to squeeze them in. I have done header in the past but not that long.

thanks for the help guys i got them hanging in the bay. still have to get all the bolts on then put everything else back in place.

for anyone searching in the future we pulled off the oil cooler line housing and oil filter, dropped the ac compressor, pulled the bolts for the control arm bushing, peeled the spark plug harness back, and backed off the motor mount. we jacked the engine on the header side to lift for clearance, and we still needed a little persuasion on the flange with a small pry bar.

i screwed up the paint on my valve cover messing with the things but i'll clean it up when i do the first valve adjustment. header looks good, there's clearance for everything once it's in. it's just a bit of a pain getting it there.
