    E36 M3 exhaust on an M20

I know people have done it before. Do any of you have information on fitting it on an E30? Modifying the pipes is not my concern, its how to hold up the can and if the tips fit out of the rear valance or do they have to be cut and angled.

I'd like to know as well because I have an e36 Remus cat back that
I was thinking of hacking up to fit my e30.

why bother, just get one made, it's not that expensive..... seems like a big waste of time to hack something up to fit when getting one custom made isn't that expensive in the first place

Hmm let me see, free Remus muffler or spend $100-200 for a universal can plus install. Might just be worth the extra 5 mins to hack it up.

Getting custom made is getting it hacked up as well. Getting a nice looking exhaust for $20 seems resonable to me. I love the tips and the sound of the E36 M3 exhaust.

Any luck on finding any info on this? I want to chop up my e36 Remus soon, I can't take how quiet my e30 is.

yes it will fit. the tips need to be cut off and repositioned at an angle. also you can weld on a bent rods for hangers. i will need to redo the rods as the muffler hangs down too far. i can tuck it up another 2" without rubbing, but it is tight.

i would post a pic, but its not hosted and this site does not allow attachments. email if pic desired.

                cheers, jason [/img]

What do you mean by better results? Yes it will be lighter but I love the look and the sound of the E36 M3 exhaust, and I was going to be out the door for around $50 INSTALLED including the purchase price of the cat back exhaust.

the e36 m3 sounds good, but it really has no balls, its too reserved. however, the staggered tips are the shit. do it.

I never installed it because it would hang down below the valance, plus it seriously weighs a ton.

Yeah, and it would sound totally different on an m20 than it would on a s50/52.

"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.
