I just found an exhaust leak after my last flange that's about the size of a dime. Is there any way to fill it or do I have to get a new exhaust.? Would welding a piece of metal over it work? The reason I don't want to put on a new one is because oem is expensive (I'm a poor college student) and there are no real gains to get from aftermarket except for sound. Any thoughts?

they sell patch kits but when I was having my exhaust done the guys at the shop told me they are worthless and won't last more than a few days. you might be able to have it welded but how long until somewhere else rutsts through? -
nah, the sound of engine flatulance isn't very appealing to me. it is louder, not by much, but it doesn't sound like anything sporty. i just hate the way it sounds coming of of the side of my car when i drive next to buildings.
so welding is possibly a temporary fix but i'll probably have to end up buying a new exhaust?1985 325e - 5000 RPM's of FuryComment
