by the way, do these headers eliminate the factory X section?

Yes, but it didn't matter to me because my full exhaust is a single 2.5" anyway.

Ahok, is there room to cut off the x piece, and move it down further or is there no space between the end of the headers and the cat? I plan on bringing to a shop I just hope it won't be to difficult to have them weld in a new bung and extend the o2 sensor wire...

Honestly can't say if there's enough room between the cat and the headers to move the x-pipe. I never had the stock exhaust on this car with these headers. I just added the o2 bung and sensor to the exhaust piping myself and extended the wiring about 8 inches. Not bad at all.

Can anyone with the "nice ebay headers" tell me the size (OD) of the primary tubes off the the head?

I think I see where your going with this...

Just installed these headers too. I am just trying to decide where to install the o2 bung. I have a merge collector, but it is further down the exhaust. I know you normally want the o2 sensor as close to the front as possible. It would be between 2 to 3 feet after the headers. Would that be too far?

Thanks for the heads up for these. I am running single 2.5" after the merge too.

Sorry for this, but I have to ask.

Did any of you replace the exhaust studs when you swapped your headers?

Like I said...Sorry for asking here. I looked, but I did not find anything saying yea or nay.

                            Thanks guys...

Sorry for the late reply, but yes, 2 to 3 feet after the headers is too far downstream. That may not keep the 02 sensor hot enough, causing the heating element to be on constantly, burning it out. And your readings will be slower.

Yes, I did the exhaust studs on mine. But I had the head out too.

the heating element is *already* on constantly. :p

if you need a longer sensor, the one from the E34 will work.
