I've encountered a large hole in my muffler unit on my 325i. So, the multiple shops I took it to looked at it and said I need a a whole rear muffler assembly. I checked the quotes, and they want nearly $400 for an OEM/generic assembly! For that price, I'll just order a performance kit. I found the ANSA inter-pipes (Part # : BW 4836) and magnaflow muffler (14815) that I'm interested in. Together, they cost around $300. Would these two pieces fit together properly? Is the magnaflow 14816 any better? I just want an affordable, lasting replacement that has a nice sound and is still quiet enough to pass emissions-check. Thanks in advance and any affordable recommendations are accepted!

Fuhraze <- Only problem with this is that the tips sometimes sit a tiny bit crooked, and one of the flanges needs to be persuaded to fit well.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30 -

Wait, nevermind. I did some more research and I'll have to have the muffler shop make a Y-tube for this muffler to fit.Comment

Oh and sorry to bump this again, but would a magnaflow dual input/output work? Everyone seems to use the 14815/16, but they also make mufflers that'll fit right on without a Y-pipe. Here's some examples:
12468
12568
Would these be a better choice?Comment

Still gonna have to do some welding. I went with a cheap ebay catback for $110 shipped to my door, bolted right on, fit on stock hangers.
It quieted up my car, lasted through the winter with no signs of rust (sold car shortly after), didn't have to pay any shop labor, saved a bunch of money, etc, etc.
Because you're looking for a louder exhaust and don't want to spring for a pre made system it'll cost a bit to get it welded. Theres no garantee that the magnaflow dual inlets will match perfectly with the ansa pipe. I think the ansa muffler also has some bends on the inlet pipes to help bring the muffler up closer to the body. It'll be easier to buy a pre made exhaust unless you already know a good muffler shop. I have never had much luck finding a good cheap muffler shopComment
