    Quiet turbo exhaust ideas

Alright so i've been thinking for a long time about bosting my e30 and i have been tossing exhaust ideas around in my head for a while

Still not sure exactly what i'm doing for the turbo side of things; more than likely a HX35 with a budget friendly build. nothing too crazy

First things first, i have a theory i'd like to run by you turbo guys out there:
Will using an RPM activated exhaust cutout cause any unwanted problems for the turbo or tuning? I was thinking of having it set around 3000rpm so i will be able to cruise and idle nice and quietly like a snake in the grass hehe. but really, i'd like to keep the fact that i'm boosted as concealed as possible so i can fit in in traffic and don't put a target on myself.

Idea 1: 3" downpipe to cutout, resonator, 2.5" Borla dual in/out and loop it through like a Mugen twin loop with a turndown (will be cutting the tire well as to mount the muffler sideways for space)

Idea 2: 3" downpipe to cutout, magnaflow 3" in/dual 2.5 out to the same borla and just straight through to turndowns.

Any thoughts and feedback would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Corey

you dont need any of that cutout nonsense or a resonator. Run a full 3 inch to a big muffler. Turbos quite exhaust from the start.

The turbo exhaust housing itself is a muffler. Just find a huge muffler or 2 regular size ones and it will be quiet.

Electric cut out if you want.

I'd have the cutout TPS based instead of RPM if it were my car. I've only had experience with one manual switch cutout and it moved very slow. It took several seconds to open up completely. I assume it was so you could dial in how loud you wanted it easily.

          Thanks for the responses guys.
I might just go with a single 3" back to a twin looped borla cuz i'm really interested in how that would actually sound. The main reason for the cutout was to cut down on any back pressure when getting into boost. I'm still a turbo n00b and haven't owned a turbo car so thanks for bearing with me.

Einstein, you're saying a WOT switch correct?

That twin loop thing looks like it's going to be loud and a butt plug

But i will forever live in regret not knowing how it would've sounded haha. Seriously though, I will take your advice. 3" to Muffler. simple enough.

I am learning, slowly. reading build threads here and on e30tech mostly. I'm trying to find the balance for me between quality parts and budget.
