    New muffler

So, I bought a new stock muffler. Should I paint it to keep it from rusting? If not - any other method I should use to keep it from rusting.

the tubing is stainless and the muffler is aluminized. you can paint the muff, i would just leave it.

I just ordered an aluminized dynomax super turbo as well. I dont give a rats ass how it looks so would a coat of rustoleum give me a season or two of extra life?

hell yea it would. but remember, the dynomax has a lifetime warranty, and it includes rust.

magnaflow has unpolished stainless mufflers now for dirt cheap, about 65, so there's really no need to skimp out and buy aluminized

Mufflers rust from the inside so don't waste your time and/or paint.

#1 cause of rusted mufflers is short trips. Make sure you get it fully warmed up regularly and you should be ok. Stock exhausts last a long time.
