I was just curious...how many folks have ran their e30 m20s without the muffler, just pipes? I have a couple times for shits and giggles and boy is it 1 loud mutha, I am tonight just for more shits and giggles at the street races, I know na m20s need some back pressure but it feels a bit more powerful w/o the muffler maybe its just the noise fucking with my senses but after 3 grand its cool :p anyone anyone?

Just wanted to add that I finished my exhaust last night. Added the muffler & piping from the resonator on back. Compared to open pipes, it's heaven. Not too loud, and now it feels like I have gobs of torque. For those thinking open pipes is the way to go, think again. Horrible performance and sounds like crap.

My e had no muffler on it. I thought it sounded pretty good but it was kinda loud.Originally posted by cabriodster87"Honey? What color is this wire? Is it the same as that one? Are you sure? mines running now with no muffler, factory cat, and piping all the way to the muffler, but the piping broke like 6 inches infront of it, not a spot of rust on it anywhere else but there. sounds good, quiet on the highway, like rumbly, but no drone or anything, not loud at all until you hammer on it.

you should try it without anything but exhaust mans on... thats loud
i ran what was effectivly a half mufflered car for a long time, didnt sound bad but it got annoying very quick. (one of the pipes to my muffler rusted all the way through)Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
