    No Muffler on the m20

I was just curious...how many folks have ran their e30 m20s without the muffler, just pipes? I have a couple times for shits and giggles and boy is it 1 loud mutha, I am tonight just for more shits and giggles at the street races, I know na m20s need some back pressure but it feels a bit more powerful w/o the muffler maybe its just the noise fucking with my senses but after 3 grand its cool :p anyone anyone?

I'm running with just a center resonator & no cats. I've been planning on doing the muffler for a few weeks now. It's annoyingly loud. Way too loud. However, it's still fun to get on it once in a while just for grins.

forget the radio, though. All you'll be able to listen to is the harmony of six cylinders doing their work. :)

Just wanted to add that I finished my exhaust last night. Added the muffler & piping from the resonator on back. Compared to open pipes, it's heaven. Not too loud, and now it feels like I have gobs of torque. For those thinking open pipes is the way to go, think again. Horrible performance and sounds like crap.

mines running now with no muffler, factory cat, and piping all the way to the muffler, but the piping broke like 6 inches infront of it, not a spot of rust on it anywhere else but there. sounds good, quiet on the highway, like rumbly, but no drone or anything, not loud at all until you hammer on it.

I think driving around without a muffler makes you a tool.

you should try it without anything but exhaust mans on... thats loud

i ran what was effectivly a half mufflered car for a long time, didnt sound bad but it got annoying very quick. (one of the pipes to my muffler rusted all the way through)

My car is sitting in the shop, and when I finally started it after re-wiring everything, my ears started to hurt. I had to fire it up in a couple mins again to see if I could notice the RPM's return faster because of the lightened flywheel. I did notice :D
