to be honest if I had to do it again I'd get a custom setting with pipes leading to resonated tips, no muffler. I know of an e36 with this setup and it's one of the most awesome sounding cars I've heard, I imagine it would sound good on an M20 as well.

It's a tough call, I don't think it'd be worth spending tons of money on an exhaust that isnt much louder than stock. I'd still go with the Scorpion..

I love my scorpion , although it got alot quieter when I went turbo. I still love it , no drone and sounds off when you are on it.

I just had my cats removed and replaced with 2.25 dual pipe from the stock H pipe to a magnaflow dual in dual out. Part number is 14468. It sounds good but it is loud as hell and I wish I would have spent more money and bought a remus or stebro. Oh well there is always next time!

Do you know where I'd be able to find resonated tips, or who makes them?
Can you post a sound clip of your friend's car?

I think these are what he has (and i dont know of any other that exist)

I dont know of any soundclips though

If you keep the cat you shouldn't have a problem with the exhaust being too loud

Having heard Remus, Stromung, Magnaflow, Scorpion AND Borla (all kinds of custom setups, too) my personal fave is still the B&B.

Have NFC how people say it is too loud...nothing near my EBhey POS DTM bullshit as far as general loud, or drone. Mine is fucking miserable (so bad, ricers flag me down to ask where to get one) and I would not wish that shit on anyone!

I actually have a high-flow cat>cherry bomb>magnaflow, and it sounds amazing. No rasp at all, and this is on an M42. I bet it would be sound awesome on an M20 as well. Total was around $200 for the whole deal custom; all stainless minus the cherry bomb, which is powdercoated aluminumized or something like that iirc.
