Really... Hmmm how can you quantify that when most of the exhaust velocity happens in the first few feet? It helps turbo spool and overall flow through expansion. However, you don't have to believe me. Someday I will possibly have a 4" exhaust... so at least I am already prepped for it. And lastly I have 4" dp because I can. The Best exhaust on a turbo is basically NO exhaust. So the biggest you can fit the better. Different case on a NA car altogether. Ever ask yourself why upgrade 3" dp on VW 1.8t's even with stock exhaust run stronger? That potentially disproves your theory. But you are entitled to your opinions and theories as am I. this is probably my 15th custom built turbo system. But thanks for your input I appreciate it :)

It's 4"... and I'd like to wrap it... probably will this winter. The melting came from when I drove it before I calibrated the timing... I was 21* retard from 0! So, all of my map timing numbers were -21*. The EGT's were out of control! I could tell that without an EGT gauge. Since then it seems as though the valve cover hasn't gotten any worse.

Hopefully today Anthony will put up the videos from last night... got some good tuning runs in! 15psi and all is well! PULLS HARD! At one point in the video we are entering the highway and it is trying to spin in third because of some of the expansion joints! Nutty! And it isn't all the way tuned even yet!

Video of the BMW Festivus held in Newport KY on this past Sunday! My car is seen at 5:55, 12:39, 12:54 (all with the hood on because I must have been eating at the Hofbrauhas probably)... Some REALLY sweet rides there!
