I run 225/45/17s in the front on a 17x8 0 offset with spacers ( I hit the frame thanks to my tie rod spacers) and 245/45/17s out back on a 17x9 -5 effective offset rim. Rear end is a 2.93 lsd

I run 15psi now (350whp on a cracked mani) and have yet to break anything. Although my build is no where near as extensive as yours. I'm just a 0.140" mls on a stock M50 NV.

the 245s lose traction if I floor it in just about any gear. :-D

    Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

I am guessing right now I am at 320 maybe. your tire gear ratio is smaller than mine (shorter gearing slightly) My engine is a stock 2.8 NV with gasket and head studs

Video of the BMW Festivus held in Newport KY on this past Sunday! My car is seen at 5:55, 12:39, 12:54 (all with the hood on because I must have been eating at the Hofbrauhas probably)... Some REALLY sweet rides there!

Car spat out a guibo bolt on the highway so tuning was cut short... wanted to in car video a more final run... not tuning.

Hopefully today Anthony will put up the videos from last night... got some good tuning runs in! 15psi and all is well! PULLS HARD! At one point in the video we are entering the highway and it is trying to spin in third because of some of the expansion joints! Nutty! And it isn't all the way tuned even yet!

All testing done on private closed courses. First drive is at ~10psi boost. Nighttime runs are at ~15psi.

Great fab skills, I have been watching your build thread on bf. You should try wrapping the down pipe so it wont cook the valve cover. My setup is similar, down pipe not as close and wrapped though. is it a 4" or 3" dp?

It's 4"... and I'd like to wrap it... probably will this winter. The melting came from when I drove it before I calibrated the timing... I was 21* retard from 0! So, all of my map timing numbers were -21*. The EGT's were out of control! I could tell that without an EGT gauge. Since then it seems as though the valve cover hasn't gotten any worse.

You know u lost a good amount of flow with that downpipe setup. Having a larger area in the exhaust causes bad flow patterns that kills power. May I ask why you reduced the DP's exit back to orriginal size?

Really... Hmmm how can you quantify that when most of the exhaust velocity happens in the first few feet? It helps turbo spool and overall flow through expansion. However, you don't have to believe me. Someday I will possibly have a 4" exhaust... so at least I am already prepped for it. And lastly I have 4" dp because I can. The Best exhaust on a turbo is basically NO exhaust. So the biggest you can fit the better. Different case on a NA car altogether. Ever ask yourself why upgrade 3" dp on VW 1.8t's even with stock exhaust run stronger? That potentially disproves your theory. But you are entitled to your opinions and theories as am I. this is probably my 15th custom built turbo system. But thanks for your input I appreciate it :)
