If you have seen the PowerBlock shows (SpikeTV) you would have seen where they installed one of the kits on a Vette. From their point of view, there is almost no boost lag, but then again, we are dealing with an engine that already makes 400hp. If you look on their website all their bolt-on kits are pretty much for v8 engines that already make decent power. No need for an intercooler either with sooo much boost piping. I would still prefer a standard setup though

Yeah big part of the reason they're not laggy compared
if you did that to a 2L 4cyl is because the 5L+ v8 :)
Power will still be the same rear mount
or up front.
right?

With so much piping between the exhaust and the turbo, and just as much piping between the turbo and intake, there is a lot of empty space there that needs to be pressurized before the engine sees any boost. Maybe not as big of a problem on a shorter car like an e30, but on a big SUV that's 20ft long? If you've got 4" piping that's over 20 cubic feet (including bends) that needs to be built up to 10psi or so before the engine sees any benefit, not to mention that standard turbo lag.
If you had real boost numbers like 15 and up I doubt the lag would be that big a deal. Those V8s are pretty boss by themselves.

it sucks. tinted tails, euro plate, no front plate, turbo, supercharger, exhaust, and ride height are all thing you can get a ticket for in CA

yep sts turbo system is the way to go if you had the money. Engine temp will be reduced, cleaner install and the sound it makes is crazy!!! Sounds like a dozen squirrels driving a fighter jet.

I used to work at a chevy dealer when I was in school, and we had a vette with twin turbo's mounted in the rear. Thing sounded sooo sick, it had no muffler's the turbo's were like the muffler's. I always thought it was a cool idea. Here's the link to the company that did the work. http://www.ststurbo.com/

I would imagine that if you did that the turbo would be facing backwards, and if you get past that part, it would be smashed into your strut tower

Can you flip a top mount turbo manifold, the squirrely ones off ebay to make it a bottom mount??
Or will it rub?

Wow. Some of this stuff is technically a violation here but, wow... Kalifornia.
Glad to see money is hard at work protecting the fine citizens... turbos, exhausts, lights..
